More waiting..More house hunting...

Yesterday was our lease contract day and it fell through.  We are so very disappointed.  To make a long story short, the landlord wanted more money and the realtor was misrepresenting the whole time.  

I have deleted previous post -pictures of the house because, I don't want to think about that any more.  We were so ready to settle, but I guess we will have to wait again..

Korean Grocery Store....

We went shopping to a newly opened grocery store..I was very impressed  -it was very clean and well organized, and the boys were fascinated by the fish display.  We can get fresh vegetables/fruits/fishes all year around from the market.

Trampoline House

There was a huge trampoline house (it looked like a giant green house from the outside) near my sister's house.  Boys could jump for an hour with only two dollars. We have been staying inside because of the severe weather(snow) for couple of days, so boys and my nieces needed this! and I had much needed break!:)

 

 

Typical Korean Breakfast...Rice with side dishes and either soup or stew.  I'm so thankful that James loves Korean food even for breakfast:)

Train Ride

Jan 25 - Jan 27 was Chinese new year holiday so, we traveled with my parents to my sister's house by train.  

Updates...

We will sign the contract for our house on Jan 21st, and move in the following week. I'll wait to post house pictures until we sign the contract.  We found out that our household goods won't be here until Feb 22nd, but we can borrow furniture/necessities from the housing office for 90 days. We have been living out of the suitcases over a month, and we all cannot wait to move in to our house and settle.  

We went to Osan Air Force base today (about 30 minutes from where we are) and guess where we had dinner? Chilis restaurant:) on base.

Getting settled..

It's been a week since we have arrived in Korea.  We are still staying at the military lodging, but we found a really nice house to call our "HOME") - I'll post some pictures soon. 

We are almost getting over jet lag and the boys are sleeping better hours:) - that means no more hungry boys in 4:00 a.m. :) ha   

We went to my sister's to visit over the weekend and had a great time at the Korean spa. James even enjoyed 117 Celsius degree hot red clay hut sauna.  The Sauna Bath uses high temperatures and low humidity to produce a dry heat.   I didn't get to take any pictures but it was pretty neat.

Public transportation in Korea is very nice and safe to travel.  Of course, the boys enjoyed the train ride to my sister's.  

We made to Korea safely...

We made to Korea safely after a long 13 hour flight plus 2 hours in the car. Since we have moved out of our house in Lynchburg on Dec 19th, we stayed at 5 different homes, traveled across from the east coast to the west coast, and across the Pacific ocean, finally made to our final destination - Korea. It is good to be back.

We will be staying at the military lodging until we find our own place. James has been busy for the last two days with in processing (lots of official paperwork). We got our temporary ID pass to in and out of the base, and Ration card -with this card, we have a privilege to use PX (military store) and Commissary (tax free grocery store). I know, we only have been in Korea for two days but these things are needed to be done ASAP.

James was really happy to see Starbucks coffee over here in main exchange area, the boys were happy to get some treats at the krispy kreme:), and of course, I was happy to get some Korean food:)

Since we didn't get the ID pass until yesterday afternoon, we haven't even seen my parents yet, without the ID pass, we cannot come back to the base.

Today, we are going to see my parents, get cell phones, and do some house hunting. The boys got up 4:00a.m. local time this morning and they are taking a nap (Jet lag) right now and I should go lay down as well.

I'll try to post some pictures soon! By the way, in the picture, Ben's headphone was too big, so we had to fix it for his comfort:)

Muir Woods

James's brother took us out for San Francisco tour.  First, we went to Muir woods national monument.Muir Woods National Monument turns 100 on January 9, 2008! President Theodore Roosevelt designated this old-growth redwood forest as the United State's 10th National Monument.

Then went to see the Golden Gate Bridge..It was amazing to see it closer.  Next, we went to fisherman's wharf for lunch, drove by the famous Lombard street and then we went to ghirardelli chocolate and got some free chocolate samples:). By the time we finished riding cable car, we were ready to get back home...but we had a great time.  Thanks John! You were an 

awesome tour guide:)
