What boys want...

Now, we are down at my sister's place.  My nieces have miniature bikes that have smaller wheels and the boys have been riding bikes for hours today- I know they have missed their bikes.   Also, my sister's apartment is more kids friendly with lots of playground/trails which I'm so glad for the boys.  They needed this and SO DID I.

Memories.....

Today, I took Caleb to the Education Center on post to do some school work.   Last couple days have been really hard and we couldn't get anything done.  Thankfully, I have learned that I can have my own schedule set up and manage our own school time so, if I get behind, I can catch up over the weekend or later as long as I don't get too behind.   Anyway, it has been raining and the boys needed some change.

While Caleb was taking a break, I told him that this place is where Mommy and Daddy met 12 years ago....

James and I met at the Education center computer lab on post in 1998.   We both were taking some classes then and we used to meet at the classroom/computer lab all the time to see each other study, 12 years later, I was there with 7 years old son - wow time has been flown by....   After school work, I took Caleb to the Burger King where James and I used to go a lot while we were dating (we were cheap hahaha).  It brought me many good memories...Camp Humphreys where we have been stationed is part of our history - Beginning of our journey together...

First Day of homeschool

Well, I got the lessons done and I have survived...haha.  The lessons aren't that hard, it is just hard to have the boys sit and focus on the things we need to do.  I'm trying many different ways to have their attention!  Hopefully we can get the schedule going before my patience runs out...lol.

System error......

I need a reboot or reset.....I'm not functioning very well...lol

The boys and I have been staying at parents apartment since we moved out of our house.  It has been a total chaos for the last couple of days - my parents's place is full of our stuff, the boys were acting up/insecure and missing their Daddy, I'm trying to make things easier for the boys/my parents but sometimes I feel like I'm stuck in the middle and overloaded.   I NEED A REBOOT. haha

Online homeschool starts next week.  I guess I need some memory update as well! lol.

Nam Hae (South Sea)

We have planned this trip for a long time but it just happened to be the week of our move, and the middle of Typhoon (Asian Hurricane).  Even though we had to come back early due to the Typhoon, we had a good time with my family.

Nam Hae is where my Dad is came from...I still have many good memories of my Grand parents when I was little.  It was good to go back and visit again...good old memories..

The whole clan:)

The ocean was so blue and so beautiful!

View from our ocean front rental house.

We went to the beach first because the weather forecast advised that it will rain next day.....and we were glad that we did.

We found lots of sand dollars

Next morning, we started the day with eating seafood(sea shell) porridge (전복죽).  James wasn't sure about this but once he tasted, he liked it!

And, by the mid morning, it started raining and got really windy....the boys went fishing with my brother-in-law earlier, by the time I went down to get them, it was pouring!

Then, Caleb was complaining about his ear was hurting....so, we took him to see a doctor and while we were driving down to town, he threw up all over the car...TWICE! he had an ear infection!

We were going to stay one more day, but we decided to head back home before the Typhoon hits the South Sea next morning...we still had so much to do before movers arrive.

Anyway, even though there were many unexpected events,  we had a good time.   We would love to go back someday.

Last night.......

Tonight, the last night at our house here....I went in bed with the boys and just snuggled an extra long time and asked them if they were happy or sad that we were moving to UAE. They said that they were excited, but that they were going to miss our house - play house, sand box, rice paddy road, their bikes(they are shipped) and Ben was crying and asked me to stop talking about the move.... We have been so busy and preoccupied by moving and I know that the boys have been feeling left out and insecure...

James is leaving tomorrow and I think I was going through some sort of emotional breakdown:)all day....I just couldn't stop crying...and couldn't help feeling overwhelmed by this transition, separation,..etc.,

I think we all needed some extra snuggle time tonight........

Farewell....

James's supporting company - '4-2 Aviation Charlie company' had a farewell party for James the other night.  It was great to see the appreciation they show to James for what he has done at the Green Platoon not only for being an outstanding instructor pilot but also being a good friend to them.  I felt great honored to be there with James and I was so proud of him......James you will be missed greatly!

Getting there....D-7

This is our 8th move, and it is just amazing to see how much stuff we have.  I have been organizing and sorting things for the movers (Big thanks to my Mom! she has been helping me so much) and trying to simplify/downsize what we have this time since we are going to move overseas again.  We have a rough idea where we will be living but we will never know!  Good thing is that there is IKEA in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai, so we will be able to buy things if we need.  Also, there are lots of open market type places called Souk.

We will be going on a vacation with my parents and my sister's family for couple of days to South Sea area- 남해(where my Dad is from) next week so we are trying to get things ready before that.  James has been running around taking care of things all week since he will be leaving in a week! I cannot believe it!

My Dad's hometown used to be an Island but there is a bridge now (Nam Hae Bridge)...it reminds me of Golden Gate bridge.  We are looking forward to getting some down time down there.

I'd better get busy!
