Enough....

This was our 8th move in 10 years of marriage including in town move.

Alabama to Savannah,
Savannah to Savannah,
Savannah to Texas
Texas to Korea
Korea to Korea
Korea to Lynchburg
Lynchburg to Lynchburg
Lynchburg to Korea

I think this is enough move for us.  Finally three days of long packing/loading is done.  I have been cleaning/picking things up at our house for couple of days.  We have moved out of our house, and have been staying with an older couple we knew when we first got to Lynchburg almost three and a half years ago. Unfortunately, in the midst of craziness, I got sick with cough and terrible headache(sinus) I couldn't really do much.  James has done excellent job for the move on top of the work he had to do for our property where he has been trying to finish up renovating.  I'm so thankful for James-He does really well under the pressure:).  I think, we all had enough at this point and cannot wait to just rest.

Moving Day!

Finally the day has come! Today was our household goods (HHG) shipment to Korea. It rained all day and took long 12 hours from 10:00 a.m. till 10p.m but the packers were great and they did an awesome job! Thank goodness for we didn't have to pack because there is no way we could have done packing and loading within 12 hours. Most of our household goods are gone today but yet, we still have another packing/shipment on Thursday/Friday for storage and unaccompanied baggage(this will arrive sooner than households)

James and I both didn't sleep much for the last couple of days and James only slept for 2 hours last night! Our wonderful friend Connie kept my boys all day for us and it was a great help thanks Connie!

James is already in bed and it won't be long before I go to bed. Tonight will the last night in this house..well, we sure will miss our home in 76 Delaney Dr.  time to go to sleep!

Good night Moons..

D-6

Things are coming along yet still a lot to be done before 16th.  I took a nap with the boys today, which we all needed it.  I put the boys for a nap around 3:45 (I know it is little late for an afternoon nap) but I did it anyway since they were so tired! and I fell asleep as well.  I got up around 5:45 and I was disoriented and didn't know whether it was 5:45 a.m. or 5:45 p.m. :) ha!

Time is flying -this season of our life-we have been unbelievably busy all the time and again even more busier with this moving.  I was complaining to James today that I just couldn't wait this time to pass....But God allowed me to take a moment to appreciate every moment I'm breathing..today, this time with moving, time with the boys even though it is a challenge, this moment I often take it for granted, will never come back..once time has past, it is gone.  Life is short and time is really flying fast....and I need to use my time wisely and cherish every moment even though I'm in the middle of this moving and busy season of life.

D-10

We have less than two weeks until packers/movers to come.  It's been kind of weird not being able to pack since the government contractor will come pack and then, movers will come and pick them up.  From Dec 16th to 19th, we will have three different packing/shipment for Korea, storage here in the States, and hold baggage(necessity stuff -this will get to Korea first).   So, next week, I'm going to be really busy sorting things out and label them for the packers.  Lots of prep work!!!

We have been house hunting online.  We will live off post - in a small village called 'Anjung Ri'. We found couple single family houses near the post (high rise apartment is a common housing in Korea), we are allowed to take up to 60 days to find a house and settle in but hopefully, we will be able to find a adequate house for our family soon.

By the way, we had snow today here in Lynchburg!

Daddy's Little Helpers

James got these Home Depot aprons for the boys today and they were so excited to wear them and help daddy at the property where James is working on right now.  And also had fun with snow even though we didn't get much:)

Snow Day

When we arrived James's parents house, we had about 8 inches deep snow on the ground...As you can imagine, boys were so excited! They had a blast! and I felt like having early white Christmas:)

Giving Thanks....

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family/extended family at James's aunt house.  James's uncle, Skip passed away last month, so he was missed greatly.  We are grateful for our family/extended family and God's many blessings both known and unknown on our lives.

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever....Psalm 136:1

I'm so blessed

What a wonderful birthday I had! Sunday was my b-day and James had a surprise party for me inviting all of my small group friends on Saturday evening. I had no clue until I walked into the restaurant. Obviously, James had planned this for weeks with my friends. I felt so blessed to celebrate my special day with the people I dearly love. James, thank you for making my b-day special! I love you! and I love you all my friends!

Progress....

We went to the Fort. Lee in Richmond yesterday for 'official passport' for James, Caleb and Ben...I know..I, being a Korean, don't get the official passport:) basically, it makes me unofficial:).

Got the airline tickets - leaving on Dec 30th to San Francisco, on Jan 5th, 2009 from San Francisco to Korea, and set the dates for the movers to come pack and move (third week of Dec).

Wow...we got a lot done! We were able to get the tickets for us to stop at San Francisco on the way to Korea for a week, so, we will be spending about a week in San Francisco! I'm excited to spend our 10th Anniversary at San Francisco...James better get busy for making some plans! haha.. San Francisco, here I come!

As of today, our house is for sale/rent!

Ben's Baptism

........-God is sovereign. He has made a covenant with His people. Baptism is the sign of that covenant.......

My little man was baptized today...We have a responsibility to teach, train, disciple and nurture him. By God’s grace, We pray for both Caleb and Ben to come to saving faith at a very young age.

I wish I was task oriented, a list maker, an organizer...I don't seemed to get anything done these days:) with my laid back personality and 'I'll get it done later' attitude.

We have decided to put our house on the market since we will be gone for couple years and we don't know where our future holds. Realtor is coming to our house on Monday to see our house and I need to get the house ready to show anytime from now on.

It's really a mixed feeling...I'm excited to go back home but at the same time, Lynchburg has become my hometown since we moved here three years ago..I'll miss our church, our friends, our home greatly.

But I know God has directed our path and I put my trust and rest in Him.

Alright..I'm going to tackle our basement today! Gotta get busy!

It's official!

James got his order (it's the official paperwork saying that we are going to Korea) to arrange our move to Korea. I will probably use lots of military term from now on..:) since we have to process through military installations.

So, we are arranging our flight, households shipment, government official passport..etc,. Our official date to be in Korea is Jan 9th, 2009 but we can travel before that. We are thinking about flying to San Francisco in route to Korea, which is possible and paid for - James's brother and a dear friend live near San Francisco. Also our 10th Anniversary is Jan 2nd..so possibly we will be celebrating our anniversary in San Francisco..that would be nice!

More sorting, packing to do today...

Sorting, Organizing, Packing, and Giving away....

That's what I have been doing lately. We have moved 8 times in 10 years of our marriage (thanks to the Army for that), and still have too much stuff. So, this time, I'm really trying to go through everything. We are allowed to take our households up to 18,000 lbs to Korea, and also store things here paid by the government....the dilemma is what to take and what not to take...

My camera is in the process of repairing(I hope)..Last week, I accidentally dropped my camera on the driveway and the camera view finder popped out..ouch! thankfully it was repairable but it would take 4-6weeks to get it back! I need my camera back soon!!!!!

Well, Gotta get busy again!

By the way, this will be James's new ride in Korea! Apache Longbow Helicopter

James is excited to fly Apache again.

New Chapter in our lives.......

About a month ago, one of James' army friends in Korea told James that there is a government job(Department of Defense civilian position, not military) opening in the military base in Korea where we have lived before we moved to Lynchburg. - it is an Instructor Pilot position (which, what James was doing when he was in the Army-teaching Apache Helicopter pilots). So, we have prayed about it and trusted GOD that He opens the door for us, we will walk through. James submitted his application and we heard back from Korea that James was selected for that position!.

SO WE are moving to Korea !!!! What a great opportunity to go back to my family while the boys are still little..and the U.S.government will pay everything for us to move there for 2-3 years. We are so thankful to God for His timing and His faithfulness.

I know...I still cannot believe that this is really happening! it is a huge answer to my prayers to be able to live closer to my family again for couple years.

Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare to move to Korea in January 2009.

Doing things together....:)

We went to visit family in Maryland over the weekend. We went to Grandmother's lake cabin to clean leaves and close the cabin for winter season. It was cold and windy but boys had so much fun with leaves..literally, they played for hours laughing, running, jumping, helping Daddy to rake leaves and just being boys:)

Next day, we headed to Pappy and Nan's farm for a visit. We had frost on the ground next morning! bbbbrrrrr it was cold!! James took the boys for a walk to the wood and I sat next to a heater and drank hot tea:)!

Priceless smile.........

Washington D.C. Trip back in September

Right before we took my nieces to the airport, went to Washington D.C. and Baltimore Aquarium for the last couple of days. This is way behind but it's better late than never:)

Capital building - we were there around 9:00 a.m. and the tickets were given out for 12:30..so we went to see some other things and came back around 12:30..but the tickets were all gone..so we didn't really get to tour the Capital building..Maybe the next time!

Our all time tour guide Uncle Pinky:)

Washington Monument - I love this picture!

View of the White house from Washington Monument

It was really hot and we walked a lot but the kids did really well!

Baltimore Inner Harbor

We got to go out to the Baltimore inner Harbor without the kids, and we had a nice dinner at the Charter House..looking at the beautiful sunset!
