Nan and Pappy, HERE WE COME....SEE you in couple of days!

The boys have been counting the days to go to Nan and Pappy's and packed their suitcase and back packs for quite some time....this morning around 7:00, I heard this loud sound from up stairs..they were carrying(dragging) their suit cases down...well, they have waited long enough..haha..

We will be leaving tomorrow night to the airport to catch early next morning 1:45am flight to Frankfurt(6 hours), Germany, 6 hour lay over in Germany, then 9 2/1 hours to the States..and drive 3 hours.....Oh....my....at least we will be sleeping on the plane..(Lufthansa/United Airlines)

So suit cases will have to just sit and wait in our family room for a day..LOL...

Now, James and I will have to pack and get things ready for the trip...again, why we always wait until the last minute?...lol.

Ready for Summer Evacuation...

Most of the expats are leaving the country the end of June to avoid heat and Ramadan in August by the time kids are out of school .   During the Ramadan,  everyday during the months(I think this year it starts August 1st), Muslims spend daylight hours in a complete fast and prayers...that means, no restaurant will be opened until sunset..and we are not allow to eat or drink during the day in front of Muslims...Thankfully we will be gone most of August but when we come back, we will experience our first tail end of Ramadan.  


It has been REALLY HOT for the last couple of months so we didn't play outside much other than going to the park after 6:00pm or going to the swimming pool...




Also boys have been out of school for several weeks, so I have been trying to keep them busy with arts and crafts, some projects, they have been playing with legos a lot(they are so creative), going to swim, and we watched some Disney Classic movies lately..-Snow White (1937), Old Yeller (1957), Swiss Family Robinson (1960), Herbie Rides Again (1960) and many more and we really enjoyed all of them! 

We will be flying out soon to visit James's family...that means I am going to have to get things ready and start to pack...The boys are counting days and quite excited:) I am not looking forward to flying but I'm ready for some cool air..lol...

Dear Ben...the night before your birthday.....

I can hardly believe that you are going to be six tomorrow! You were so excited as you went to sleep tonight that tomorrow is your birthday:).. 6 YEARS.....on my little boy is growing up....

I'm sitting here thinking about the day I gave you a birth.....6 years ago..

Ben, you were born in June 14th, 2005 at the Army Hospital in Korea 10 days earlier than your due date.  At that time, your dad has decided to get out of the Army after serving over 9 years and move back to the States.  It was the night before the movers were supposed to come pick up our household and mommy was busy all day with packers so didn't get to go to bed until really late....   Your dad was so tired and went to bed right away and mommy was tired but I just couldn't sleep...around 1:00a.m., I felt mild pain and wasn't sure whether it was the beginning of contraction or not.   I tired to get back to sleep since your due date was still 10 days away but the pain was rather regular so I woke your dad up since we would have to drive up to Seoul (about an hour drive)...and I'm glad I did because if I have waited, I probably delivered you either in the car or  helicopter on the way to the hospital...:) I don't remember what exact medical term it was but mommy had a very rapid progressive contraction and a quick delivery:).

Your grandpa 할아버지(Harabuzi) came to watch your brother (he was almost 2 then), your dad took mommy to the Army Hospital....in the car, pain was really intense...we arrived at the hospital around 3:30a.m....we checked in to the hospital and a nurse checked me and said I'm only dilated 4cm, and told me to get some rest...mommy was in so much pain..I couldn't hold any longer...I called a nurse around 5:30a.m. the nurse told me that I was dilated almost 7cm...they moved me into the delivery room and getting things ready for mommy to deliver you....around 6:00 I was dilated to 8cm, your daddy went to grab something to eat and get something from the car, around 6:30, I was dilated to 9 cm, the nurse asked me where your dad was...and asked me daddy's phone number because you were about to come out in any minute.

The nurse called your dad to come back ASAP...and called an emergency room doctor up for delivery because my delivery doctor was on her way to the hospital and I was too close to give birth.....you just couldn't wait any longer to see mommy and daddy..:)...   Dad almost missed your birth but he made in time to watch you born and cut your umbilical cord.  Yes, you were born 6 years ago just like that and look at you now...6 YEARS OLD!

Ben, we love you very much! 

God has blessed daddy and mommy with you so much for the last 6 years.

Summer Break........

Caleb finished his school last week and Ben has couple more lessons left to finish then our summer break will officially begin.. I cannot believe the boys will be in 3rd and 1st grade next year!!!

Summer came way early here in May, lately the average temperature during the day has been like 106-110F.....it will rise up to 130 in July/August....We will visit James's family in early July, and then I will be going to Korea with the boys for couple of weeks as well.....at least we will be out of the country the most part of the summer.  I cannot wait!

Dad's must have - Super Glue

Boys constantly break things/toys...yes, they are boys!

James fixes things with super glue..often he finds broken pieces on his desk which the boys put it there for him to fix.

While we were in Seychelles, we bought the boys wooden boat for souvenir and they really loved it!

Next day, Ben dropped it on the concrete floor and chipped the part of the boat...he was upset and crying...

Me: Ben, just keep the pieces together maybe Daddy can fix it later..

Ben: (with relief/amazement) Did Dad bring a super glue?????

What do we do without super glue:)
