We have been house hunting for the last two weeks!
In Dubai, after initial 2 years of lease, (it is hard to believe we have lived in Dubai for 2 years) landlords are allowed to raise 5% of rental price, and without exception, our landlord wanted to raise the rent also, (which was above our housing allowance), so we started to looking some villas to move even though we loved our villa with a huge sandbox in our backyard. And it was quite an experience:) Rental cost has been going up slowly over the last two years so it was hard to find a house where it is a convenient for both James to drive to work, and for me to take the boys to school within our budget.
We found a nice villa but there was no kitchen inside - kitchen was outside next to the maids room in a separate building, and it is absolutely normal in the local neighborhood (maids/chef cook). Some were very nice and big and very fancy but very expensive, some were in the middle of no where-basically in the middle of massive construction, and one villa had 6 outside rooms for maid, drive, gardener, nanny..etc! James and I joked about sub leasing them:)
It was frustrating not to be able to find something would meet our needs when we had to move out in two weeks!, but we trusted God that He will provide exactly what we need, and He has! We found a perfect villa for our family! It is located in the local neighborhood -means not many expats, but very convenient location for both James's work and boys's school, and it was under out budget! also the villa has so many nice features we could really enjoy! huge yard for the boys to play (yes, we have some grass this time and some sand), plus swimming pool! (yes!), and many more! We are so thankful for what God has provided for us and we are excited to move into our new villa probably the end of September or sooner!
